Investigation into Properties of Fibre Reinforced Concrete in Extrusion Based Adaptive Manufacturing
Last years, 3DCP has been developed at the university of Eindhoven. Many elements are printed to develop the manufacturing technique. The research on the entraiment of reinforcement is started to develop the design possibilities. Fibres increase the ductility and the flexural tensile strength of fibre reinforced concrete. In order to print fibre reinforced elements, the material, design, and reinforcement techniques have to be developed.
The flexural strength and ductility is tested by experimental tests. Traditionally casted specimen are compared with printed specimen. In order to print FRC, an additional device has been developed in which fibres can be added to the concrete.
Next to the experimental part, a numerical model is created. The model is able to determine the stress-strain diagram of the material based on experimental results. The results will be shown in my Final Colloquium on the 8th of december 2017, 9.00 a.m. in Vertigo 8.06.
