Buckled glass panels in the structural design of a railway station
The expansion of the Amsterdam RAI railway station requires a canopy on the new platform. This presentation is partly about a structural design proposed for the new canopy. Included in this design are a façade and a roof that contain cold bent laminated glass panels, following a new concept: buckled glass panels functioning as arched structures. This concept has been experimentally researched in the laboratory, and shall also be featured in the presentation.
You are most welcome to come watch, and to engage in a lively discussion after the presentation!
