PDEng trainee Advanced sensing of structural behaviour in 3D printed concrete bridges

3D Concrete Printing

This PDEng traineeship (full-time, 2 years) is related to the realization of a 3D printed bridge, which is structurally optimized in terms of material usage. The goal is to develop a fit-for-purpose non-destructive measurement program to monitor the structural behaviour in 3D printed concrete bridges. The selected sensing techniques will be calibrated by experimental research. The results will then be applied in practice, where a 3D printed bridge will be subjected to the measurement program.

The PDEng trainee will be embedded in the research group 3D concrete printing (see www.tue.nl/3Dconcreteprinting). The PDEng trainee will closely collaborate with a second trainee in this project. For questions about the project please contact dr. ir. Rob Wolfs (r.j.m.wolfs@tue.nl).
