Mid Colloquium Sanne van der Wal

Tie method on a non-conformal model in a Building Spatial design Optimization Toolbox.

The goal for the thesis is to create an alternative for the conformal model used in the Building Spatial design Optimization Toolbox. This BSO Toolbox has been developed to generate structural and building physical solutions early on in the design process. With a conformal model, solutions are given. With a conformal model the building spatial design is limited, and a non-conformal model can give more design opportunities. A tie method is developed for non-conformal models to create more freedom in Building Spatial design without losing discipline specific operations.
During the midterm colloquium the approach of the tie method is presented, the development of the written code is elaborated, and further development is discussed.
