Lunchlecture Haskoning
Join us for a lunch lecture where we unveil the design and engineering behind renovation of Nijmegen Station and showcase innovations in computational design at Haskoning.
The renovation and expansion of Nijmegen Station mark the next step toward fast and sustainable public transport in the Netherlands. The newly added platform is covered by a canopy designed based on the traditional Zollinger principle for large timber spans. The architect reinterpreted this classic concept into a modern, double-curved system. Haskoning was contracted to transform the abstract design into a tangible structure. In this presentation, we’ll walk you through the design process and show how data, parametric design, and material behaviour were integrated to turn the concept into reality.
Whether the project is a refurbishment or repurpose of an existing building or is a new building entirely, we use BIM and advanced design tools to explore different options and arrive at an optimised solution. The design of Feyenoord stadium is one example where these advanced design tools were applied.
