Lunch Lecture HVR
How to install the world's largest Wind Turbine Foundations offshore? FEA provides valuable insights.
Offshore wind turbines are generally supported by monopile foundations. These monopile foundations, which can exceed 80m in length and 10m in diameter, are installed with hydraulic impact pile driving hammers. In the development of such a pile-driving hammer, but also the foundation pile itself, numerous challenges in the field of structural engineering are encountered. In this lunch lecture, HVR Engineering will go in-depth on some of the specialist engineering work that is performed throughout the development of the world’s largest pile driving hammers and monopiles where dynamic and fatigue analysis play a crucial role to optimize the design to cope with the extreme forces needed to install these piles.
Free lunch will be provided!
