Natuur-inbouw: optimising building details for building-dependent animals
Nature in cities and villages is under pressure. New construction and climate‑resilient buildings offer less and less space for animals. With the project “Natuur‑inbouw” new living space is being created in and on buildings for birds, bats, and insects that depend on these structures.
To counteract the loss of biodiversity, the nature and construction sectors are joining forces to support building‑dependent species in urban environments by providing nesting and breeding sites. This knowledge is applied in Flemish and Dutch homes, buildings, and infrastructure. The project contributes to promoting nature‑inclusive building practices and sharing expertise.
