Lunchlecture VeriCon

How far can architecture go before the structural engineer has to say “no”?

During this lunch lecture, Chris Does from VeriCon will take you through the design process of an ambitious private villa where architecture and structural engineering continuously challenge one another.

The project combines nearly every major construction material, from concrete and steel to timber and masonry, and is filled with structural challenges. Think large spans, far-reaching cantilevers, and architectural sightlines where the structure is meant to remain as invisible as possible.

Using this project as an example, Chris will show how structural engineers deal with architectural ambitions that at first glance seem almost impossible, and which smart solutions make them achievable.

An inside look into both the technical and creative side of structural design.
