ABT Design Challenge

This year, the ABT Design Challenge is all about robustness. In teams, you will be challenged to build a robust connection between wooden beams and a continuous wooden column. This structure will be tested for its robustness in the SED lab. During the building phase, the column will be supported by a block. However, during the test, the block will be removed, causing the column to no longer be supported. Weights are then added to test how much load the robust connection can carry. 

The winner will be determined by the jury. The winners will be awarded a nice prize during drinks and pizza in the Lab!

The presentation will be held in VRT 8.08!

The planning is as follows:
12:30 walk-in
12:45 Welcome and presentation 2x 0,5 hour

• Demountable construction (robustness)

13:45 Explanation assignment 
14:00 Building phase
17:30 Testing
18:00 Ending + drinks and pizza
